Joanne is the Treasurer of Self Directed Support Scotland. Over the last 25 years, she’s worked with various Third Sector and Voluntary organizations. She began as an employability advisor at Castlemilk Economic Development Agency, helping long-term unemployed and disabled people find employment, training, and education. Joanne then worked at a Money Advice Centre and a Carers Centre before joining Take Control East Dunbartonshire.
At Take Control, Joanne started as an advisor, leveraging her experiences as a young/adult carer and managing an SDS Direct Payment package for a parent. She has since become the Co-ordinator at Take Control East Dunbartonshire.
In her free time, Joanne enjoys hill walking, mindfulness in nature, and meditation.
