Donna works for Social Work Scotland in the Self-directed Support Team. She helps local authorities implement good self-directed support. Before this, Donna was part of a cooperative of micro providers offering support in remote areas. She continues to work as a Personal Assistant, providing monthly respite care to families.
Donna enjoyed working in Zambia on an HIV/AIDS programme, supporting families with children with learning disabilities. She also ran a cafe that trained adults with learning disabilities, all while raising her daughter and caring for a family member.
Donna is passionate about social care. She believes that when it is well-funded and delivered by great people, it makes a difference to everyone.
