Gail was born in Glasgow and attended University there, gaining a BA in Social Sciences. She has had a working career of over 34 years in social care, spanning both the voluntary and statutory sectors. Gail has held a range of posts working directly within local communities and in managing projects and staff teams throughout the former region of Strathclyde and latterly with Glasgow City Council.
Her experience includes working to support people with a learning disability, physical disability, and with older people. She has experience in volunteer recruitment and development, contract management and commissioning, training and social care practice audit.
Gail also has a diploma in Complimentary therapies and has worked with people who have a range of conditions or illnesses.
Gail enjoys being involved in her local community and is a volunteer in a number of settings, including her local Carers Centre. She is also a carer to her Mum and an elderly neighbour. Gail enjoys keeping fit and being outdoors and has recently taken up wheelchair basketball.
